Plan for the work between the photos

A counter can serve coffee in the morning and lunch preparation in the evening without displaying every tool all day. The useful question is what must be reachable during each task. We recommend the OXO Steel Coffee POP Container for a fixed coffee-storage spot, the OXO Little Salad and Herb Spinner for temporary preparation space, and the Bentgo Glass Salad Container for the lunch that leaves the kitchen.

This is a layout plan built around those products' roles, not a claim that they form a fitted storage system. We have not measured them together in a real kitchen. Use your own counter, cupboard, refrigerator, and bag dimensions before adopting the arrangement.

Keep a small home for coffee supplies

The POP is our pick when coffee and the scoop need one consistent home. Place it where you can reach and open it without moving the lunch tools. A cupboard near the preparation area may work better than leaving it on the counter.

Try marking its proposed footprint with paper first. Then make your usual coffee with everything else already in place. Check the space needed for your hands, the lid, and setting down a mug, not just whether the container's base fits. A layout should accommodate the action as well as the object.

If your existing coffee bag and scoop already have a reliable place, keep that arrangement. This recommendation is about access and organization, not a reason to transfer every dry ingredient into matching containers.

Let the spinner occupy the working area temporarily

The Little Spinner is our recommendation for the greens-drying stage when that task happens regularly. Give it a reachable cupboard spot, bring it out for preparation, and return it after cleaning and drying. You do not need to reserve permanent counter space for a tool used during one part of the day.

Before choosing it, check the route between sink, working surface, and cupboard. If getting it out requires moving several other items, reconsider the shelf or the purchase. A preparation tool that is inconvenient to retrieve can make a planned routine harder to maintain.

Move the lunch along its own route

The Bentgo Glass Salad is our pick when the finished meal needs separate components carried together. Assemble it on the cleared work surface, then move the packed meal to appropriate cold storage. Reserve refrigerator and lunch-bag space as deliberately as the preparation space.

FoodSafety.gov advises two cold sources for perishable packed lunches and a refrigerator or cooler on arrival when available. Account for that cooling equipment in the carrying plan. A neat counter arrangement does not address temperature control.

End by putting the coffee tools back within reach and leaving a drying place for washed lunch parts. The two routines can share the surface because they happen in sequence, not because all three products must be visible at once.

Research basis

These are spec-based recommendations and original layout suggestions using manufacturer information and FoodSafety.gov guidance checked October 31, 2026. We have not tested this arrangement in a kitchen or measured space savings.
